X10-overview-topWith a 1GHz Snapdragon chip from Qualcomm, 4-inch capacitive touch display, an 8.1 megapixel camera, and Google Android Donut operating system, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 will be a great 2010 entry into the Android market for Sony Ericsson. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 – previously known as the Rachael and the X3, is the first phone in a family of phones to deliver a consistent user experience where communication truly becomes entertainment. It is the first mobile phone to truly humanise the way people interact with their phones. Let’s talk about Sony Ericsson’s two key developments on the X10, shall we?

Sony Ericsson’s two key developments on the X10 are Timescape and Mediascape, each running as a standalone application but fully integrated in terms of features into each of the native Android apps. Sony Ericsson Timescape manages all your communication with one person in one place. Browse through your conversations the bright way to check out your Facebook, Twitter, photos, emails, and texts all in one go. Sony Ericsson Mediascape meanwhile, is the smart way to get all the music, photos and videos you want from your favourite friends and artists. It accesses content from everywhere – your phone, YouTube, PlayNow – and presents everything for you.

Connectivity wise, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 includes microUSB and a 3.5mm headphone jack, both on the top edge of the X10, and there’s a microSD slot with an 8GB card in the box as standard. Other hardware specifications include UMTS 3G HSDPA/HSUPA, along with WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.1 and GPS.

The company is saying they’ll release the XPERIA X10 in Q1 2010 but there’s no word on pricing yet. Visit Amazon for another XPERIA model.
