The Qosmio series is Toshiba’s consumer-marketed line of high performance, desktop-equivalent and gaming laptops and their current line, the X500 series, was released just about last year. Now, it’s getting a much awaited graphics performance upgrade courtesy of NVIDIA. The upgrade is the new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M graphics processor1 with 1.5GB of discrete graphics memory for a more sophisticated graphics engine designed for the latest and most demanding DirectX 11 games – sweet!
Currently, the high-performance Qosmio X500 Series laptops can deliver better mobile performance and offer more high-end features for demanding tasks like gaming, multimedia and HD entertainment – all for just an introductory price of $1,299.99 from Toshiba’s website and other different retailers.
The upgraded Qosmio X500 Series laptops will run on an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost technology. They come with a dramatic 18.4-inch diagonal HD TruBrite widescreen display that has plenty enough of screen space for multi-tasking and entertainment. The premium sound system is composed of Harman/Kardon speakers with Dolby Home Theater audio technology for that rich 5.1 surround sound. Other features include LED backlit keyboard, optional Blu-ray Disc player, quick dual-configuration 7200RPM HDD and solid state drive options, DDR3 memory settings that are expandable up to 8GB, plus a multitude of ports. The input and output ports include three USB 2.0 ports, one eSATA/USB Combo port with Sleep and Charge , ExpressCard, IEEE 1394 and a 5-in-1 media card reader.
The new Qosmio X500 series laptops will also feature some of Toshiba’s exclusive technology like Resolution+ DVD, eco Utility, ReelTime, Toshiba Media Controller and Bulletin Board.
