New Belkin Conserve Line-Up: Energy Management Within Your Reach

With the crisis the world is facing today, more and more people are becoming more aware and concern about their consumption – not only of the things that they buy everyday but also of the energy that they consume on a daily basis. To help people control their energy usage, Belkin introduced four new innovations in its Conserve product line-up: the Insight, Smart AC, Valet, and Socket.

The Belkin Conserve Insight F7C005q Energy Cost Monitor is a monitor that shows pertinent figures about a particular device in your home – the number of watts consumed, the cost, and the amount of carbon dioxide emitted. All you have to do is plug the device into the Insight to get the right figures.

The Belkin Conserve Smart AV is a socket collection into which you can plug one main device (like a TV) and the several devices connected to it (like the DVD player and game console). The main device is plugged into the green socket. When the Smart AV detects that the main device is off, it turns off the devices connected to the main device to save on power.

The Belkin Conserve Valet is a charging station that can accommodate up to four devices. It automatically shuts off when the devices are already fully charged, and it doesn’t draw on power when not in use, so it saves energy.

The Belkin Conserve Socket allows you to time power to certain devices. The timer shuts off power to a given device after the time interval that you choose, saving energy and keeping your home safe.

With all these innovations, it’s easy to control your energy consumption.

Don’t let the water drip

Conserving water and energy is a big deal in everyone’s lives. The continuous shortage to some parts of the world poses as a big threat and should be heeded by all mankind. In lieu of this, designer Julia Treutiger has designed a shower head that “thinks’ to help you conserve water.

This gadget has divisions which acts as timers every time you take the shower head off its cradle. The segments then slowly snap back into place slowly but it still gives you enough time to rinse your hair and body before it automatically shuts off the device to help you realize that you are already wasting too much precious water.

This shower head is a great design especially since most people leave the water running even if they’re not using it. Like when you’re brushing your teeth or shampooing your hair, water doesn’t have to be pouring out of the faucet. However, some people have been used to hearing the water splash down on the floor but in times where we have to be environmentally conscious, even a single drop is considered a big waste.

Now hurry up and scrub those remaining suds behind your ears before time runs out!!
