Super Talent USB 3.0 Express RC8 Offers an SSD-like Performance in a Flash Drive Form

Sure enough, size is one big aspect for new powerful gadgets – the slimmer, lighter, and smaller, the better. This is true with the new Super Talent USB 3.0 Express RC8. It may look like a plain flash drive, measuring 1 in. wide, 4 in. long and 0.3 in. thick but this gadget is not just a regular storage device at all. It can reach up to 270 MB/s read speeds, doing better than internal and external hard drives. Because of the RC8’s dedicated SandForce SSD controller that allows the real-time use of eight channels of NAND memory, it is as good as a solid state drive. Additionally, the Express RC8 is backward compatible so it can use USB 2.0 connection. It doesn’t even require an external power since it is already USB powered.

Super Talent just released a new flash drive that’s designed to be taken with you everywhere you go and whatever you do. This flash drive is housed in a tough metal shell with a large hole to make it easy to fit on almost any keychain. Plus, the unique design of the CKB flash drive lets you use it as a key ring for all the keys you might carrying, regardless of how portly or heavy that keychain is. The drive comes in two colors – nickel and black, and in a wide variety of capacities. The USB thumb drive is available in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB capacities apiece. The drives support both USB 1.1 and 2.0 interfaces and have exposed USB connectors with no cap. It’s not just the external enclosure that’s tough, the inside is made of durable solid-state storage with 10 years worth of data retention backed with limited lifetime guarantee.

In addition, the drives are waterproof and they need no separate driver installation to operate. The dimensions of the drive are 40mm L x 25.9mm W x 3.7mm H and nearly weigh nothing at 6 grams. No official price tag yet but it’s expected to come at an affordable price.
