Casio Pathfinder PRG110C-3 – Powerful and Convenient Tough Solar Watch

Do you want to go green? Then why not start with the accessories you’re wearing like your watch? Thanks to Casio Pathfinder PRG110C-3, you can now help trim down the number of batteries being trashed by Americans each year. Included in Casio’s line of TOUGH SOLAR watches, the Pathfinder uses power that’s generated by a solar battery in order to charge its rechargeable battery that activates the watch functions. It’s more than just an eye candy; this watch is also perfect for people who need a barometer, an altimeter, a digital compass, and a thermometer.

Since it is a TOUGH SOLAR watch from Casio, the Pathfinder is capable of doing high-load functions with big power requirements like sensors and alarms. Best is, it doesn’t even need a battery replacement because it recharges even just in low light coming from a fluorescent lamp. This nature-friendly gizmo enables users to enjoy almost unlimited use of different watch functions including full-auto backlight, and radio control wave reception. This watch also allows the wearer to utilize its advanced sensors for gauging atmospheric pressure and direction, as well as temperature. What’s surprising is, the Pathfinder lets you enjoy all these features while it recharges itself with solar energy.

Among the Casio Pathfinder’s superb features are full-auto backlight for display illumination, battery power indicator, and power save function. The full-auto backlight function lights up the watch when the user tilts it toward his or her direction in low-light conditions. As the name implies, the battery power indicator displays the charge level of the battery for easy monitoring. Furthermore, the power save feature is used for automatic electricity saving since its LCD automatically turns off so as not to consume too much power if the watch is in the dark.

AmbienTec’s SOLARFAN Gadget Charger

You might find solar panels as very unfashionable pieces of gadgetry. You know, those odd looking black crystal looking panels that are shaped into rectangular slabs. It could ruin your style of sophistication and modernity that you embodied into every piece of gadget that you owned.

The SOLARFAN is a green gadget that wouldn’t cramp up your style. It has a white Appleish look that you love which will surely catch the attention of others. The solar module where the energy is harvested from the sun’s rays doesn’t look like a reflective broken piece of black glass. It has a look that is similar to a speaker grill or the head of a microphone. Instead of having one slab of solar panel, this uses a fan mechanism which spreads into four when fully opened. It has a maximum power output of 2W and output voltage of 5V. You can let this expose under the sun and store the energy on two AA hydrogen-nickel cells that are specifically designed by AmbienTec to hold charge even for long periods of storage. You just have to connect a USB cable from the SOLARFAN to charge your iPod, cellphones or even to run your USB water fountain.

Three minutes of charging gives your cellphone about 10 minutes of talk time or 3 hours of standby time.

If you like being out in the sun and always have the tendency to not charge your gadget or hates when you run out of battery out in the open, then this could certainly fit you.

The Sun Jar Charges during the Day and Lights up at Night

sunjarA jam jar has jam in it, so what does a Sun Jar have inside? No, not the sun! It does have the sun’s rays so that come night time, you have a light source that is environmental friendly.

Inside the Sun Jar are solar cell, rechargeable battery, and low-energy LED lamps. When the jar is placed under the sunlight, the solar cell creates an electrical current that charges the battery over a few hours. This energy is then used at night to power the LED lamps inside the jar. The light is diffused by the frosted jar and gives the appearance of sunlight emitting from the sun or a cool moon glow (warm colored LED lights are used to provide a more natural and warm glow).

sun_moon_jarNow, you may have noticed that there is no switch on the Sun Jar – in fact, there are no visible controls at all. Well, it has a clever light sensor inside that automatically activates the LED when it gets dark or the lights are turned off and there is an override switch inside the lid to turn off the light when not in use and conserve battery life.

Sun Jars are not only beautiful but by their nature, they are completely watertight. Meaning, they can be left outside in any weather conditions.

Available in three different shades, these are cool gadgets that can add color to your porch, patio, garden, room, or virtually anywhere.

The solar flowers provide free access to Wi-Fi and serve as recharging station for mobile devices like laptops, cellular phones and other handheld gadgets. The best part is that all the energy needed to provide those cool services came from solar panels implanted on the back of the petals as well as the base of the stem of the flower statues. Those solar panels will also be used in the solar roof of the upcoming next generation Toyota Prius. Additionally, these eco-friendly flowers can accommodate a maximum of 10 people to serve as a green hangout while they charge their mobile devices, surf the internet or just rest tired old legs.
