You don’t need to be a botanist, environmentalist or to be Pamela Lillian Isley to grow your own plants in a bottle. Even if you don’t have a green thumb, you can grow your own plants with the new Plantarium. This environmental gadget let’s you appreciate the beauty of nature up close and personal right at your own desk. Thanks to Plantarium’s test tube like containers and NASA-approved colored nutritive growing gel, you can now watch seeds take root and grow without having to soil your hands. The test tube is made of quality glass and serves as a miniature greenhouse. To grow your test tube plants, simply remove the enclosed seeds from the lid and start planting by pushing the seeds right into the non-toxic gel using the included wooden stick. When the plants reach the top edge of the Plantariums in about 2-3 weeks, you can now transfer them now to a regular plant pot. Take that Dr. Edgar George Zomboss!

There are five plants that you can plant and grow, and no – they don’t collect sunlight and coins, they don’t ward off zombies, and they definitely don’t include Peashooters, cherry bombs and Corn-pults. You can choose from Basil, Busy Lizzie, carnation, Sunflower and Tomato. There’s something about looking at a budding plant to relax your eyes than just staring at screen wallpaper or a screensaver. Here are a few pointers before turning your desktop into a Plantarium garden: first, never touch the seeds and second, don’t re-open the vial after planting the seeds and before removing the plants.

Do you have a green thumb? Can you plant like anything and just seem to have a charm, talent, skill or whatever and make it grow? Then this isn’t the item for you. On the contrary, if you seem to have planted a lot of things yet a few only sprouted (like me) or have just gave you false hopes of growing into a big plant and just wilt along the way, then rejoice since frustrations will now end!
