Of all the precious metals, gold is the most valued and coveted by man. It symbolizes man’s fascination with wealth, beauty and power. The quest for gold led to many major events in history including the fall of Aztec in the hands of the conquistador, the infamous death of an Incan Emperor, the 1849 California Gold Rush and the development of most currencies. As a testament to man’s unique relationship and obsession with gold, Nokia even released a Special Gold Edition for their N97 mini. The Nokia N97 Mini Gold Edition goes beyond sophistication and luxury with its full 18-carat gold plated body that hides an even greater number of treasures underneath all that metallic yellow shine. This 18-carat smartphone sports a 3.2-inch tilting display with a fully customizable home screen that gives you quick access from the latest news to your favorite websites. To take personalization up a notch, you can access the popular OVI shop to browse their almost unlimited catalogue of games, applications, multimedia and online store services. With the OVI shop your personal home screen can be filled with your digital favorites in no time. For fast and easy inputs, the N97 Mini Gold uses a full QWERTY miniature keyboard; composing e-mails, SMS or updating your status on your favorite social networking sites couldn’t be easier.
The Nokia N97 Mini Gold Edition also features a 5MP camera with autofocus, Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash, an expandable 8GB memory, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and microUSB 2.0 connectivity.

First off is the design, it still adapted full QWERTY monoblock form of the E71 but added a more sleek and contemporary touch. It has a new Optical Navi Key for fast seamless navigation of webpages, documents or menus. In addition, it acts as a one touch auto focus key for the 5.0-megapixel camera. The Navi Keys work perfectly with the clear TFT QVGA display and the phone’s highly responsive GUI.
We have given you a glimpse of the Nokia Booklet 3G on our previous post . Now that it has been officially announced, let’s take a look again on Nokia’s entry into the netbook market.
Just when I thought that Nokia is a company that concentrates on the cellphone market where it is strong at as shown by its mammoth phone sales that seems to be on a war path, it has diversified on the computer market with (not surprisingly) a netbook. It is not new that a company strong in its field diversify to conquer other greener pastures. Just like what Apple did when it ventured into the smartphone market even though Apple is prominent in the computers and music player market, smartphones is a related field. With Nokia, they went after netbooks since these are shifting towards dependence on mobile internet through 3G networks which Nokia conveniently is a player with their 3G phones.
