The AF100 features a 4/3-inch, 16:9 MOS imager. The camcorder is capable of recording 1080/60i, 50i, 30p, 25p and 24p (native) as well as 720/60p, 50p, 30p, 25p and 24p (native) in AVCHD’s highest-quality PH mode. To make it ready for global preparation standards, this camcorder is designed to be 60Hz and 50Hz switchable. Maximizing the capabilities of the camcorder’s high-resolution imager is its built-in ND filtering and considerably reduced video aliasing. Among the AF100’s standard professional interfaces are HDMI, HD-SDI out, built-in stereo microphone, time code recording, and USB 2.0.
Moreover, the AF100 is equipped with two XLR inputs with +48V Phantom Power capability and 48-kHz/16-bit two-channel digital audio recording. It also supports LPCM/Dolby-AC3. As the newest AVCCAM from Panasonic, it is also the first to enjoy the advantages of modern SDXC media card compability aside from the camcorder’s existing SDHC card support. Because of its two SD slots, the AF100 is capable of recording up to 12 hours using two 64GB SDXC cards under PH mode.
