Nokero Solar Light Bulb: Affordable and Safe Lighting Within Everybody’s Reach

Light plays a very important role in the life of many individuals and families. It is with this knowledge that we grieve for people in some developing countries who are deprived of light, and for those who still need to spend a lot just to have light in their homes. And, it is also with this same knowledge that we welcome with gratitude innovations aimed at helping these people get out of darkness. New discoveries such as Nokero’s solar light bulb are welcome innovations.

The solar light bulb is specifically designed to address the needs of people who still use fossil-fuel lanterns for their lighting needs. Fossil fuels are not only expensive; they’re also dangerous to the environment and human health because of the carbon dioxide that they emit and the greater possibility of fire risks associated with their use. The Nokero solar bulb is less expensive because you can simply charge it out in the sun to give it power. A whole day of charging can yield two hours of lighting use, while a full charge can give you double the amount of light (up to four hours). Charging is done with the help of the four solar panels in the bulb. It also comes with a rechargeable battery that lasts for more than a couple of years. The bulb is about the size of an incandescent bulb and is rain-proof. It’s made from impact-resistant plastic materials and comes with five LEDs.

The Nokero solar light bulb is an effective solution to the lighting needs of many individuals. If you check online, you’ll also find a line-up of solar light bulb at Amazon, each designed to preserve the environment and help families.

Turbine Light

Did you know that as of 2006, there were about 250,000,000 passenger vehicles registered in the United States? And since 1960s, according to the US Department of Transportation, the following years had a positive increase rate in number of vehicles that ply the road. This means that more cars are getting into the roads, which emits greenhouse gases that further worsen the environmental state that it is right now.

With more cars getting driven, more roads and highways have to be built. But have you ever thought of the implications that these new roads and highways bring? This means that more lamp posts and street lights are needed to be constructed for highway lighting. This takes up a lot of energy since you don’t expect highways to run on puny energy saving bulbs. They rather use high power lamps to light up a wide coverage to make roads safe for everyone. Though no one can stop putting up highway lighting or building of roads as these also boost the economy, what can be done is to innovate the system by using renewable energy.

Renewable energy is big and highly publicized especially in the US. What cars do is generate air turbulence as they pass by especially at speeds in highways. This air movement can be harnessed by idle lamp posts that sit right in the middle of lanes by using little wind turbines in each lamp post. The excess energy produced during daytime can be stored for use in the night. And since the number of cars won’t seem to stop, this is a very viable option.

If implemented, this would save a lot of energy that could have been derived from burning fossil fuel.

Klipsch LightSpeaker

Klipsch was given an innovation award for the CES 2010. Known for their superb audio products, what they came up to win such an award isn’t a big ass music system but a rather small one – a light bulb. How coincidental that a light bulb symbolizes an idea, which Klipsch apparently had a very bright one.

Klipsch LightSpeaker is an innovative product that fused the common light bulb and their expertise in audio equipments. The LightSpeaker is a speaker that gets its electricity from the socket just like a common bulb. You just have to screw it in and you have an LED light bulb and a speaker system in that place! No retrofitting has to be done as it connects with a 5″ or 6″ bulb socket.

The music is being streamed from the base station to the LightSpeaker at the proprietary operating frequency of 2.4GHz. You just have to connect your iPod or mp3 player to the base station and it will stream to the speakers around your home. The base station can handle up to 8 speakers and can play two separate music to two different speaker zones. The speakers has a 20watt power output giving enough punch to fill a room or your garden. The LightsSpeaker is also a LED bulb that provides light similar to a 65 watt incandescent bulb with almost no heat and can be used for up to 15 to 20 years.

This ingenious design can make any home equipped with ceiling type speakers as easy as screwing in a bulb.

Klipsch speakers are available at Amazon.
