The well-known thumb drive maker, Kingston Technology, has made another breakthrough by offering their latest flash drive with a whopping 256GB storage capacity – the highest capacity available on the market. Actually, Kingston released a 128GB USB drive [Data Traveler 200] last month, but now, they have doubled the capacity with the new Kingston Data Traveler 300.

According to Kirsty Miller, Product Marketing Manager – Consumer, Kingston Technology Europe, the Kingston Data Traveler 300 will allow users to carry huge volumes of data with them everywhere they go. “Business users and consumers can also protect their data by initializing the Password Traveler software [for Windows-based computers only], allowing them to password protect their data in a privacy zone without the need of administrator rights,” he added. Users will also benefit from fast transfer speeds of up to 20MB/sec read and 10MB/sec write.

The Data Traveler 300 is perfect for those in search of huge storage capacity and data protection in a lightweight, but durable design. With a retractable USB connector and built-in lanyard/key-ring hole, it is designed to withstand daily use.

Well, I must say that the features of this tiny tech gadget are pretty impressive, not the price, though. If you want to have the Data Traveler 300, you’ll have to pay $900.
