Jetson’s newspaper

Looking more on the technological trends in media is the latest innovation in e-newspaper.

Move over e-book, the Plastic Logic previews an electronic device with revolutionary plastic displays. Using highresolution transistor arrays on flexible plastic substrates, manufactured at a low temperature, this new breakthrough is definitely larger than e-book-du-jour of the Amazon Kindle.

The Plastic Logic device has an 8.5 x 11-inch display and uses gestures for control rather than a flood of unintuitive buttons.

Unlike other devices, however, there should be even more flexibility in the Plastic Logic e-newspaper – not least because it s made from a plastic substrate that can be bent and twisted without damage.

Content will be loaded either via wired or wireless connection, and supports Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint files, and PDFs.

Plastic Logic CEO, Richard Archuleta said that the fact that professionals read much more business content than recreational content inspires them to develop a handy device with big readable display.

Modern Journalist’s Toolkit

Journalists have entered a new era.

Another from Yanko, Newsware is the next best thing for journalist’s.

Providing a system of wireless connected digital devices, Newsware includes a camera, voicestick, notepad and a soft keyboard completing the package.

The Camera shoots images or video, the VoiceStick records audio and the NotePad collects and organizes all information recorded with those devices.

Its double sided touch display permits a quick application change or flipping pages like in a book. The handheld provides all the necessary applications used by journalists with a focus on text processing. A soft keyboard completes the toolkit.
