Fancy welding an alien blaster to clear out an alien infestation or invasion? Do you want to go all out with all guns blazing like Duke Nukem, Dr. Gordon Freeman, Lt. Johnny Rico, and Sam “Serious” Stone? Now you can with the new apptoyz appBlaster iPhone rifle dock and Alien Attack iOS game. The new appBlaster (formerly AppGun) is specially designed iPhone (3GS and 4) and 4th generation iPod touch accessory for the augmented reality game Alien Attack. It’s pretty much like those Wii and other game consoles gun accessories but what makes it interesting is how it seamlessly works with the AR game. Just slide, lock, and load your supported Apple device on top of the blaster, run the AR apps, and blast the now visible aliens as they walk among us. Pulling the trigger enables the gun’s two capacitive tabs to touch the screen and fire at the exposed alien invaders.
The appBlaster takes a first person shooter gaming to a whole new level; the augmented reality platform allows aliens to come at you from the surrounding environment providing an exciting and challenging entertainment whether you’re at home, on your way to work, or at your office. One of the best features of the appBlaster is that it does not run on batteries. Instead it relies on a trigger-to-touch mechanism to activate both the primary and secondary blaster. Reloading is done by activating the iPhone or iPod Touch’s motion sensors. Alien Attack is available for download on the iTunes App Store.

As a kid, I always had fun playing with different sorts of gun that operate in different ways. I had those squirt guns, ultra range water guns and even those ultimate water pump launchers. I also had variations of sling shots that fire neon balls instantaneously or those that operate with a rotating mechanism to effectively fire the ammo at long range. Ahh! those good times when I was a kid. I was able to relive them all when I saw this cool air bazooka called Airzooka.
