GeoSkeeper – Safe and Sound: Anytime, Anywhere

If only we exist in a Star Trek generation, in a world where no man has boldly gone before; where what it takes to get help, rescued and beamed to a starship is a simple tap on a personal communicator badge. Beaming back to reality, that kind cool personal communicator is already here, way ahead of its time. Introducing the latest addition to Aerotel’s growing Skeeper family – the new GeoSkeeper, a wrist-worn personal emergency response system and communicator in one. This watch like device is more than your average safety, communication and alarm gadgets; it has a built-in distress button and an active GPS system that can activate a SOS signal. And it provides not only accurate tracking but fast GPS monitoring as well. It may not be as cool as a transporter beam, but it’s an important feature if you want a prompt and immediate help. Using Aerotel’s proven geofencing technology, you can even set a virtual safe zone. In an event where the wearer wanders or moves outside the defined safety zone, GeoSkeeper can automatically notify and alert the monitoring center, relative or caregiver.

The integrated cellular speaker phone turns the GeoSkeeper into a small and compact personal communicator. It uses an embedded quad-band GSM/GPRS module to receive regular calls and more importantly, make emergency voice calls to speed dials contacts. Thru a web based interface, the GeoSkeeper’s features can be remotely set. These include the speed dial numbers, automatic answering, various alerts, geofencing area and more.

New Cobra XRS 9970G and XRS 9965 Radar Detectors

Did you know that US is one of the countries in the world which allow sales of radar detectors? Yet, only 6% of drivers use one even if it is perfectly legal. The reason could be because of additional cost that will be incurred in getting one. But try to get a speeding ticket and see how much it could save you in the long run.

The new Cobra XRS 9970G and XRS 9965 are the newest radar detectors that were just unveiled at CES 2010. Cobra has specifically took into account of removing the initial hurdle of setting up the device by using an intuitive setup process of just “tap and go”. This is done with the 1.5″ touch screen display that make things hell of a lot easier. Unlike conventional radar detectors where you feel around the device to adjust things, the color touch display is very easy to use much like a GPS and you could almost control all the settings from there. Features include 14 Bands of detection, Voice Alert, POP detection and a lifetime subscription to the AURACamera and Driving Hazard Database. The AURACamera is a photo-enforced alert where you get a warning and a display of your speed whenever you are under camera surveillance. The Driving Hazard Database on the other hand has information regarding road hazards. You can update the info on your unit by just connecting it to a computer and getting the latest from the database.

It is probably the time for you not to get speeding fines anymore. Just be sure to place it right on top of your windshield near the rear view mirror instead of your dashboard.
