The Fujitsu Wireless Guidance System

Hospitals are among the most stressful places today. This is partly due to the fact that most of the people who go to hospitals are ill, or are related to a sick person. The hurry and scurry in hospitals, plus all the waiting needed for registration, form accomplishment, and the completion of all other necessary procedures add to the stress. Fujitsu has introduced a feasible solution to the latter problem. Its Fujitsu wireless guidance system is designed to help in facilitating the step-by-step procedures that patients have to follow before they actually see their doctor.

The said system comes with an electronic paper display and card provided for patients. When a patient enters the hospital, he does away with all the traditional registration processes. He is simply given a card that he places on the card reader. Once done, the patient is automatically registered at the hospital and guided to his correct destination. The device will display the patient’s remaining waiting time and place in line. So, he doesn’t have to keep close to the waiting room to see if he’s already being called. He can roam around to do whatever he needs to do and rest assured that the device will update him when his turn is near. He just needs to be sure to stay within the range of the wireless signal to be able to receive updates (via display and vibrations).

While the Fujitsu wireless guidance system is beneficial to patients, it is as beneficial to hospitals. Because patients don’t have to consult with nurses and hospital personnel every once in a while, the personnel can focus their attention on more pressing tasks. Plus, they don’t have to use more papers for patient registration. Beneficial, don’t you think?

Fujitsu MH380 Netbook with Intel Pine Trail

Netbooks were definitely big this year. There were a lot of models to choose from with different brands but with almost the same specs. The netbook segment won’t just be like that since a new platform is coming to the successful Atom, the Pine Trail, and it is running on the Fujitsu MH380.

I know it might sound out of nowhere that the codename for Atom’s next generation platform is Pine Trail but here is the big improvement. The Pine Trail platform uses 2 chips instead of the previous 3 platform. This is done by combining the processor and graphics processing unit (GPU) on a single chip. With this, manufacturers now have the option of squeezing in more battery life or giving netbooks a speed boost. Fujitsu was one of the first to make a netbook on the Pine Trail with the MH380, but users still have to hold off their purchase since it will be launched early 2010. The specifications of the MH380 though have surfaced and it will come in Brown, Ivory, White, and Diamond Black and are designed exquisitely using chrome accents. It will have a 1.66GHz Atom N450 processor with 2GB of memory and 250GB of hard drive space. The usuals are also there like an SDHC card reader, 1.3 megapixel web cam, WiFi, and bluetooth. What’s unique with this netbook is the availability of a scroll wheel right beside the multi-gesture trackpad. It has also a sharing feature where it can connect to an ODD drive (DVD/CD) of home PCs and notebooks through a wireless or USB connection.

Fujitsu LifeBook UH900 – The World Right in Your Pocket

As NASA and other national space agencies once tried to beat each other in the space race, laptops, notebooks and netbooks are also trying to outdo each other in terms of size and features. This eventually led into a competition of who’s got fit the bigger specs in the smallest body – and right now Fujitsu, a foremost provider of IT-based business solutions, seems to have the upper hand.
Fujitsu Lifebook UH900Fujitsu just launched, in perfect timing for the holidays, their newest take on handheld PC in the form of the LifeBook UH900. This new product promises full PC performance in its small 20.4cm x 10.65cm body that closely resembles the dimension of a long wallet. It barely measures an inch thickness and lightly weighs around 500g, almost half the dimension of a typical netbook. The slim form factor still managed to perfectly squeeze in a 5.6-inch WXGA vivid glare screen for comfortable viewing. The amazing part is, despite the lightweight and compact design, Fujitsu was able to fit in full-featured PC capabilities in the UH900.

This latest gadget is powered by an Intel Atom Z530 processor and uses a 62GB SSD storage. The LifeBook UH900 made the most of it with Windows 7 compatibility by sporting a multi-touch screen as well as thumb-glide point and buttons. For connectivity, it has Bluetooth, a camera, mic and a built-in support for 3.5G internet. The Fujitsu LifeBook UH900 is available in Mocha Black, Fiery Red and Vintage Gold.
