Toshiba 55ZL2 – The World’s First Wide-angle Glasses-free 3D TV

Although it’s rather enjoyable watching movies in 3D than regular video screens, some may find wearing the 3D eyeglasses uncomfortable. Thanks to constant innovation, there are 3D monitors that do not require wearing 3D eyeglasses anymore. Be even grateful because Toshiba will be releasing the world’s first large-screen glasses-free 3D TV. The 55ZL2 has a 139cm (55in) in diagonal screen size with LED-backlit QuadHD resolution (3,840 x 2,160) LCD panel that is identical to Quad Full HD resolution. The Toshiba 55ZL2 boasts the CEVO-ENGINE technology that makes it possible to deliver the stringent details needed to create the 3D effect with multiple wide-angle viewing zones while further increasing the picture quality without the need for 3D eyeglasses. It even optimizes the viewing angles by face tracking application that detects the viewer’s position through the push of the remote. By this, the 55ZL2 sets up the best overall viewing angle for you depending on your spot. The 55ZL2 is also jam-packed with remarkable features such as SMART-TV for easy access to Toshiba Places, Toshiba’s online platform that lets you stream, purchase and share Web-based content, Toshiba’s Resolution+ technology for four times full HD resolution on DVD or Blu-ray content and SD or HD resolution on TV programs, support for Hybrid broadcast broadband TV, and PERSONAL-TV applications that can store personal picture settings and up to four different private channel user list, support personal grouping of recorded content as well as remembering the quantity level of every user after turning off the television set.

Sony VAIO Z Series – Notebook Plus Booster Pack

Inside the Sony VAIO Z Series lie a powerful standard voltage Intel Core i7 processor and an ultra-fast DDR3 memory. For an even faster performance, it uses a 256GB SSD RAID storage and has Quick Boot technology for up to 50 percent loading times of Windows 7 Professional. The Z Series can operate non-stop up to 14 hours thanks to its dual sheet technology. The internal lithium polymer battery can power the notebook for 7 hours; an optional secondary sheet of battery can instantly add another 7 hours without turning off the unit. The removable battery can then be charged while the primary one is in used for continuous usage.

The new Sony Power Media Dock is the Series Z’s jet pack – it’s an expansion module that connects to the notebook using an optical cable. Using a high-speed I/O data transfer based on Light Peak architecture, the Power Media Dock can enhance the graphical performance of the Z series and add a host of connectivity options while at it. The dock is powered by an AMD Radeon HD GPU with 1GB VRAM.

Sony Goes Digital with Their Two New Radios


The latest radios nowadays are now what they used to – at least to the updated and more techie listeners. In a market dominated by FM transmissions and analog radios, Sony introduced their next generation of radios specially made to tune-in to the more advanced Digital Audio Broadcasting Plus (DAB+) transmissions. The XDR-S16DBP portable radio and XDR C706DBP clock radio are digital receivers that supports DAB, DAB+, and FM transmissions. These two models are the first of Sony’s micro radios that are compatible with the new DAB+ enhanced digital broadcasting standard that’s gaining popularity in different European territories. The new digital format allows for a more efficient coding scheme so listeners can have access to an even wider range of radio stations, and clearer and interference-free audio as compared to traditional FM systems. Both the XDR-S16DBP and XDR C706DBP will have 10 DAB and DAB+ presets as well as 10 FM presets for easy access to your favorite digital broadcasting stations.

Encased in a curved natural wood cabinet, the XDR-S16DBP comes in an old school radio design with clean, retro inspired lines that accentuates the radios simple and neatly set knobs and controls. It is outfitted with two 0.8W stereo speakers for a crisp and clear audio reproduction, and a clear 16×2 character LCD screen that shows DAB/DAB+ channel and program information. Furthermore, it comes with a Sleep Timer that automatically turns the radio off after a set scheduled time, and a headphone jack for private listening. The XDR-S16DBP is AC powered and comes with the AC adaptor included.

The XDR-C706DBP clock radio on the other hand comes in a stylish and compact design that would perfectly complement any bedroom. It uses a 0.4W mono speaker for reproducing DAB, DAB+ and FM broadcasts in clear audio quality. It features a large and easily readable LCD screen that displays the current time. Additionally, it comes with adjustable brightness settings and up to four individual alarms that can be programmed to different schedules. It also features a snooze button and sleep timer for that “a minute more of sleep” moment before waking up.
