KeyKatcher – The Easiest Way to Monitor Computers

There are lots of software options available for monitoring your computer. There are also a number of anti-spy and anti-virus programs that can detect monitoring software. Indefinitely, the back and forth battle of spy versus anti-spy software will continue. But, there is no program available which can detect a KeyKatcher [and there will never be].

key-katcherThis spy gadget plugs in between your keyboard and your computer and secretly records everything that is typed on your computer’s keyboard. It’s tiny yet it can store more than 65,000 keystrokes including e-mail, chat, IM, internet addresses and other computer activities. As keys are typed, the data is stored inside a non-volatile memory chip within the device. The non-volatile memory chip keeps the information even during system lock-ups and power outages. This means that the recorded information will not be lost albeit the device is unplugged.

installpicNow, if you want to see what has been recorded, simply open any word processor or text editor (Microsoft WordPad recommended) and type your personal password. The keylogger will then display a menu allowing you to view the recorded data, with options to erase, view, search data for keywords, change password, or disable the device.

KeyKatcher works with all computer operating systems with PS/2 keyboards and does not require any software to work. It can be plugged into one computer and plugged into the next without any installations or hard work.

Who needs this?

• Parents – to monitor your child’s internet, e-mail, and other computer activities
• Employers – to monitor employee computer usage compliance
• Software Developers – as a record of user activity
• Executives – to protect confidential files

iKey’s AK-39 – A Wearable Keyboard That’s Built to Military Specifications

iKey-AK-39-ruggedized-wrist-worn-keyboard-450x239

You might ask – what makes this keyboard special from the rest of the keyboard available today? Isn’t it obvious? It’s a wearable keyboard! It is a keyboard to be worn on the arm, aiming to provide a simple, compact data-input solution that does not restrict the user’s arm movements. It is designed to meet MIL-461 standards and intended for use in very harsh electromagnetic interference (EMI) environments.

The AK-39 comes in small footprint, has the basic 39-key layout and features essential components for military and public safety applications, including an integrated Force Sensing Resistor (FSR) pointing device with left and right button functionality, as well as adjustable green LED backlight that is also offered in a night vision (NVIS) compatible configuration.

Aside from that, this wearable keyboard also comes with USB configurations, serving as the only connection to a computer. And because it is designed with gloved users in mind, the AK-39’s snap-on faceplate eliminates accidental key strokes and can be easily removed to clean the pad. No information if it supports Bluetooth or other wireless connections to devices. Also, no word on pricing yet or any indication that iKey will actually sell these to the general public.

For the meantime, you can settle for iKey keyboards offered here.

I’ll Tengu What…

Tengu

If you were part of the Tamagotchi craze back in the 90’s, then you might just find yourself drawn to one of these Tengu computer gadgets.

Tengu is a simple white, square device created to spice up a boring day job. Simply place it in front of your computer, and watch it mimic your lip movements. It even creates facial expressions based on the music and sounds in the background. Tengu’s various facial reactions are created by its blinking red lights that’s powered by a computer USB port. With no software program needed, Tengu is compatible with all operating systems.

Like a virtual pet, it can fall sleep when there is silence, and wake up at the sound of any noise.  When awake, it responds to the sound level and type of music and noise it hears. You can even change its expression by blowing on its face.

Tengu keeps you company like a buddy at work or a pet at home. Although truth be told, this invention is actually not far from the old Christmas lights that never fail to amuse you year after year. Why not give Tengu a chance. Who knows? He might just be your new BFF.
