No wilderness is too wild if you have a Raptor with you, not the extinct predatory reptile but the new Eton Raptor Orange solar powered USB cell phone charger loaded with outdoor essentials like light, terrain guidance and energy charging. This self-powered device utilizes the power of the sun to recharge mobile phones through a USB connection and also doubles as a digital wilder lands guide. The Eton Raptor uses an 1800mAh rechargeable Lithium Ion battery charged by a high-efficiency monocrystal solar panel. The stored solar energy can be transferred to charge a cell phone via USB cable. Its other useful outdoor digital functions include an altimeter, barometer, and a compass. It’s also outfitted with an AM/FM/WB digital radio tuner with presets and NOAA weather notifications, and digital clock with an alarm function. This gadget is not limited to solar energy only; it can also use DC power.
The Eton Raptor weighs just about 11 ounces and yet it packs a LED flashlight, audio line and DC input, battery charge indicator and even a handy bottle opener. Instead of scales, the Raptor has a rugged, rubberized, and IPX-4 certified splash proof skin for the much needed layer of protection against outdoor elements like water and dust. A separately sold holster is also available to hold the unit and a mobile device for added hands-free carry pack and extra protection.
