HSTi Wireless Media Stick

Look at the entertainment devices you currently have right now. You might have an HDTV, a Blu-Ray player, DVD player, digital picture frame, and a gaming console. If they have a USB port and allows playback of media files from there, then you could try out the HSTi Wireless Media Stick!

This device is basically a wireless network stick that allows streaming of media content from your computer to other USB enabled playback device. Why the need you ask? This is because most likely, you have most of your media files on your computer which you have downloaded over the internet or shared from a friend. From there, you would like to play it on a wide screen rather than your laptop’s 13″. On your picture frame, you might want to share all of your photos from your computer without having to use an enormous 16GB memory card. Those and others are done by this wireless media stick.

The setup is easy. Just plug in the wireless media stick to your computer which is connected to a home wireless network and start the configuration process. In just a few minutes, you are ready to stream your files from your computer to any USB enabled device. For example, just insert the media stick to the USB port of your HDTV. From the file browser, you will see all of the shared contents from your computer, ready to play, ready to entertain.

The router is the integral part here since it connects your computer to the media stick. If you don’t have a router, you can use a wireless USB adapter as an option. You could get wireless USB adapters here.

Casio Exilim EX-10HG Camera with GPS

Whew! CES2010 was full of gadgets and geekiness. A lot of cameras (point and shoot that is) were introduced and added to the ever growing line of compact cameras. About 48 were presented in CES and one of them is the Casio Exilim EX-10HG.

Casio has been known to provide cameras that are oriented towards a slim profile. This camera maintains that slim feeling and a white colored body construction. Though still a prototype, this fully working camera can be an actual product in the near future. Its main feature is the built-in GPS satellite receiver. This idea came from customer opinions and I don’t see why it won’t make sense.

As you can see, even photo uploads on Facebook have a special box dedicated on where are the photos in the album taken. Having a GPS device will enable geotagging or adding geographic coordinates to the pictures. This makes other people see where the picture or video was taken and opens up a whole new avenue for information exchange. Other users can upload pictures to the internet which your camera can track and show in your LCD screen. Other information like tourist spots, great views and others can also be downloaded to the EX-10HG.

But this isn’t all. The EX-10HG also has a 10x optical zoom and a 12.1 megapixel resolution with 720p video recording capabilities. The 10x optical zoom is a nice addition since most compact cameras are pretty much limited to 3x or 4x zoom.
