Samsung BD-P4600: Flat Is Phat

Now, you can give your flat-screen TV a companion with Samsung BD-P4600 wall-mountable Blu-Ray player. Yes, your wall-mounted TV won’t be alone anymore with the P4600 being a mere 38mm thick — it’s the “world’s thinnest Blu-ray player”. And it’s ideally designed to be bolted in place beneath your television. You don’t like the idea of wall mounting? Don’t fret! You can still show off the good-looking Samsung BD-P4600 with its especially designed stand that angles the Blu-ray player at 25 degrees.

When the included 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi dongle is attached to one of the USB 2.0 ports or via the traditional wired Ethernet connection, you can easily connect to your home network. It can also stream more than 12,000 movies and TV episodes from Netflix and Pandora music services (subscription required), so you’ll have an ever-expanding library of entertainment into your living room. The BD-P4600 also boasts 1GB internal memory so you can keep the movies and songs you download.

Can’t wait to experience the Blu-ray difference? Look for the Samsung BD-P4600 in stores in late April. But while you’re waiting for that, shop around for some Blue-Ray players that are currently available.

Wasabi PZ310: Your Magic Printer from Dell

pz310

We all know that taking pictures in the digital age is very easy and can be done in a few seconds thanks to the ever handy digital cameras. Printing it on the other hand is a different story. Going to a photo shop is the best way to have your pictures printed since they are relatively cheaper. Printing at home could be convenient but cost is the issue since most printer inks are quite expensive. Portability is also an issue since portable printers rely on inks and sometimes cannot give justice to great pictures that you have taken

The PZ310 is different from any the usual portable photo printing devices available in the market. For one, it is ink free! Yes, you saw it right, ink free! This is because of the Zero Ink or ZINK techonology. This Zero Ink technology is embedded in the paper and this special printer activates the crystals in the paper to give rich and vibrant images. Zero Ink paper are designed to resist humidity and sun light that can damage pictures. It also has an adhesive backing for easy sticking on anywhere you want and is semi glossy on the photo side. Photo output is rated at 55 seconds each and the printer can hold a maximum of 12 sheets.

Portability is also its major selling point since it is just 4.8×2.8×0.9 inches and weighs 225g with the battery. The battery lasts for up to 15 prints and can be recharged easily with the included power cord.

The PZ310 is available in Gray, Blue or Pink and is currently being sold for $99, but the regular price is $149.

LG Watch Phone

lg-watch

It has been a year since LG introduced its first watch phone in CES 2008. Now, in CES 2009, they unveiled yet another watch phone which in terms of looks and capabilities, is better. The first watch phone from LG has only three buttons and is equipped with Bluetooth to make calls. Obviously, it didn’t catch on because using a watch phone with just basic phone capabilities wouldn’t persuade new users. Now, with LG’s new watch phone, it is expected to be more welcomed by tech lovers all over the world.

LG’s watch phone can do what modern cellphones are capable of – communication and multimedia. The watch phone has a capacitive touch screen that allows you to press buttons on the glass screen. This will enable you to send SMS using a T9 keyboard. For making calls, Bluetooth connectivity is present for use with a headset,  making the experience more techie. Well, no one wants to talk on their “watch communicator” like the Power Rangers do.  The music player is adequate which can be streamed to a Bluetooth headset. A speaker is present at the back,  but don’t expect a lot from it since it is significantly smaller. It has 70mb user memory at the present. Not much actually but just adequate for regular use. A camera (yes, a camera!) is present at the top of the watch. This neat addition is perfect for aspiring spies. Haha!

The LG watch phone is a perfect match with the TriSpecs Bluetooth Sunglasses. They complement each other in terms of looks and function too!

ClarionMiND : The Next Generation Navigation Device

clarion-mind

The Intel Atom processor, currently used in the netbook industry due to its small size and its relatively powerful processor, opened a lot of opportunities for device makers from different industries. This propelled more powerful devices that are smaller, more efficient, and generally better. Clarion Mind is a product of this ingenuity.

Being a leading company for audio and navigation, this device can surely bring you to your destination stress-free and accurately. Detailed maps of US and Canada are included. This can ensure that what you see on the road is the same as in the device. In the event that you don’t happen to live within US or Canada, the ClarionMiND can use Google Maps to easily download your city of choice.

A full Firefox browser is also included that can render web pages same as on the PC. MySpace, YouTube, Weather, News, RealPlayer, Email, and Portal Sync for software updates applications are included in the interface that are pretty much straightforward. Other applications are PDF Reader, Contacts, Calculator, and Notepad.

The specs are: 4.8″ LCD Touch Screen display, 800MHz Intel Atom processor, 512MB DDR2 ram, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB connection, built-in speakers, and SD expansion slot.

Though it has good features, the ClarionMiND can only be up for 1.5 hours which is really bad when you want to use its multimedia features away from the car, and the 4.8″ display is a relatively small screen which can strain your eyes if you plan to read e-books or browse sites for long periods of time.

Sony Walkman NWZ-X1000

walkman_new

Not too long ago, Sony dominated the portable music device scene using a cassette tape with their Sony Walkman. Then came the iPod which totally took over the portable music player market. Now, Sony is trying to regain their footing on the market that they had back in the ’90s, with their newly released Walkman NWZ – X1000.

The first thing that you’ll notice is the large 3″ Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED). Not only does is this the optimum display, it serves as a touch screen too! The design is very minimal, and not a lot of buttons cramp up the face of the player thus, allowing the user to have free touch access to the interface.

The X series is the first portable media player to have digital noise reduction! The unique digital noise cancellation software blocks ambient noise that can ruin the rich music experience that one often gets from media players. You can expect top-notch sound quality from the X1000, as it is equipped with Sony’s Digital Audio Clear Technologies.

If you’re on the go, and aching to get the latest tune you recently heard on the radio, the Sony Walkman NWZ X1000 allows you this instant gratification through their built-in Wi-Fi. This will allow you to browse the web, watch videos online or download podcasts easily with the numerous hotspots available.

As of now, there is still no word on pricing, but it will be available in summer. Color option is limited to black. A 16GB and 32GB version will be available when this media player gets released.
