AT&T 3G MicroCell Gives You Signal Boost

You might have finally ended your phone contract and jumped right into the AT&T camp just to get an iPhone. From the start, you love the way the touch screen responds and how intuitive the operating system is. But once you get home, you find yourself stuck with having only a few bars of signal making it hard to send and receive text messages or have lots of dropped calls. So what you do now is to go outside or near the window just to get a couple of bars.

What the AT&T MicroCell does is act like a mini cellphone tower that makes your home (up to 5,000 sq ft.) a 5-bar signal hot spot. It works by connecting your current DSL or Cable internet connection to the MicroCell which uses the broadband connection to provide signal. Aside from having good signal reception, you can also apply for unlimited domestic calls for an additional charge of $20. However, you can only use your unlimited minutes when the call is made inside the MicroCell service area. The signal is handed out to an available cellphone tower once you leave your home. This means that any call started within your home will be unlimited even you go out of the house.

You can allow up to 10 AT&T users to benefit MicroCell’s signal coverage and have 4 cellphones use the service at the same time. This gives you the security that no one is leeching from your signal coverage like an unsecured WiFi connection.

eXperience Sony Xperia X2

Managing all the documents and stuff in your office could be a little too much for you. Sure you can bring a netbook anywhere since they are really light and portable but they are still something that takes up space in your bag or portfolio. So how about bringing your office with you in an interface that is very similar to your computer?

The Xperia X2 is the second incarnation of Sony Ericsson’s endeavor to capitalize on the smartphone market. What they offer is functionality and style. For functionality, there you have is a Windows Mobile 6.5 and a full slideout QWERTY keyboard for easy typing of text messages or emails. Style is a factor of course since even businessmen want some style right? It has a black finish that is like a piano’s surface with silver on the keyboard that feels like metal.

You can watch films in high definition with the phone’s 3.2″ full touch display screen. Then take pictures or videos with the 8-megapixel resolution in the camera. It has autofocus which is great for taking pictures of documents or if you just want your pictures of your friends with high clarity. This also has A2DP support so if you have bluetooth speakers, you can wirelessly stream your music without having to dock or use a cord.

I like the way that a 3.5mm audio jack is used so I can use my favorite earphones. Memory can be expanded by using up to 16GB of microSD but a 4GB microSD will be included.

I like the way that I will be able to mix office productivity and fun with the Xperia X2.
