In an almost endless stream of new gadgets, a new tablet didn’t go unnoticed despite the fierce competition – the LG Optimus Pad Tablet. Introduced during the 2011 Mobile World Congress (MWC), LG Optimus Pad Tablet turned more than a few heads, earned its fair share of nods, and got the respect of many with its impressive specifications. It features an Android 3.0 platform, 1 GHz Dual Core NVDIA Tegra 2 processor, 8.9-inch capacitive touch screen and two HD-video capable 5MP cameras at the back.
The latest Android 3.0 Honeycomb mobile operating system is optimized for tablets; this allows the LG Optimus Pad to support larger display resolution and apps made specifically for tablets like Google eBooks, Google Map 5, and Google Talk. Android 3.0 also gives the Optimus Pad an easier to use and a more familiar desktop comparable interface. The 1GHz Dual Core CPU delivers multi-tasking capabilities and rich multimedia experience. Add the 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity to the already powerful processor, and users are in lag-free browsing treat.
The 8.9-inch screen is small enough to be held in one hand yet large enough for comfortable viewing. Its convenient size allows it to be carried in a small bag or attaché case. The screen has a 15:9 aspect ratio and 1280 x 768 WXGA resolution for truly cinematic and vivid high-definition display.
One of LG Optimus Pad’s more exciting features is its 3D camera that can capture and be viewed on 3D TV’s thru HDMI or online thru YouTube 3D. Other things to look out for will be the integrated video conferencing feature and the large library of high-quality games through the Tegra Zone app. LG Optimus Pad is expected to hit the tablet market this March.

The galaxy is expanding, the universe is expanding and Samsung is definitely expanding with their latest addition to their Galaxy family – the new Samsung Galaxy S II. This latest expansion from Samsung is the world’s thinnest smartphone and probably one of the most powerful too. The GALAXY S II model GT-I9100 merely measures at 8.49 mm super-thin and weighs almost next to nothing. It’s powered not just by a single, but by a Dual-Core 1GHz Samsung processor with access to 1GB of RAM. The powerful processor offers faster web surfing and multi-tasking capabilities comparable to that of a PC. The 3D hardware involved also turn any games and video graphics faster and smoother. For connectivity, Samsung didn’t settle for anything less than a super-fast HSPA+ connection and BlueTooth 3.0+HS for unbelievable download speeds and transfer rates.
