Sony and Android is an exciting partnership that is probably second only to William and Kate or Brad and Angelina. It may not be the wedding of the century but it is something that every descent techie is looking forward to, and why not? Sony just declared that they will be releasing not one, but two “Sony Tablet” with Android in the near future – this year future. These new mobile gadgets are said to combine advanced hardware, rich content, and seamless connectivity with top notch and immersive entertainment experience. The first tablet is codenamed S1 and is hinted to be made for multimedia entertainment; the second tablet is codenamed S2 and is optimized for both mobile communication and entertainment. Both models will run on the latest Android 3.0 – a mobile operating system with holographic interface specially designed to cater to tablets and other devices with larger screens. Sony Tablet will feature Wi-Fi and WAN (3G/4G) connectivity for faster web browsing and smoother access to Sony’s premium network services and online digital contents like videos, games, and eBooks.

The Sony S1 will feature a 9.4 inch display and a special off-center of gravity design made to add stability and ease of grip, ensuring comfortable use even at prolonged hours. The S2 on the other hand will come with two 5.5-inch displays that can be folded for improved portability. Its dual screen configuration allows for a single combined display or separate displays each with its own content and function.

A new Apple is ripe for the picking this season and sure enough, techies are already looking to grab a bite. Even Snow White would find the new Apple iPad 2 hard to resist and who can blame her, especially when this device is 33 percent thinner and 15 percent lighter than its predecessor. This Apple tablet operates on iOS 4.3, mobile operating system that features an improved Safari mobile browser, new iTunes Home Sharing, AirPlay enhancements, and Personal Hotspot for Wi-Fi sharing. Other noteworthy features include an integrated gyro for enhanced gaming experience, HSUPA support for faster 3G upload speeds, and HDMI Video Mirroring for duplicating the iPad screen on an HDTV via an adaptor.
Better late than never – HTC finally jumped into the tablet craze with their first tablet, the new HTC Flyer. It’s a combination of HTC’s distinct innovative design and the latest HTC sense reinvented for the tablet. HTC Flyer features a unique interaction experience by adding and recreating the natural feel of a pen and paper navigation on its touch screen. It also features an on demand video and movie download service and Cloud-based mobile gaming.
