Toshiba 55ZL2 – The World’s First Wide-angle Glasses-free 3D TV

Although it’s rather enjoyable watching movies in 3D than regular video screens, some may find wearing the 3D eyeglasses uncomfortable. Thanks to constant innovation, there are 3D monitors that do not require wearing 3D eyeglasses anymore. Be even grateful because Toshiba will be releasing the world’s first large-screen glasses-free 3D TV. The 55ZL2 has a 139cm (55in) in diagonal screen size with LED-backlit QuadHD resolution (3,840 x 2,160) LCD panel that is identical to Quad Full HD resolution. This delivers excellent 2D and 3D picture quality and provides 9 different views from the screen for a realistic cinematography viewer experience.

The Toshiba 55ZL2 boasts the CEVO-ENGINE technology that makes it possible to deliver the stringent details needed to create the 3D effect with multiple wide-angle viewing zones while further increasing the picture quality without the need for 3D eyeglasses. It even optimizes the viewing angles by face tracking application that detects the viewer’s position through the push of the remote. Sony DEV-3 and DEV-5 – Digital Binoculars and Full HD and 3D Recorder in One

Whenever you’re on a stake out, the last thing you need happening is missing your prey but with the new pair of Sony’s full HD and 3D digital binoculars, you can catch, shoot, and record their movement as soon as they enter your sight. This also applies to other activities like bird or whale watching. The two pairs of Sony binoculars are the first digital binoculars with full HD and 3D video recording capability, zoom autofocus and steadyshot image stabilization. The new models, DEV-3 and DEV-5, can record full HD video and add a 3D mode with Sony’s AVCHD 2.0 format through a simple touch of a button.

Here are DEV-3 and DEV-5 highlighted features:

• Optical SteadyShot image stabilization that keeps images clear and stable even when viewing at high magnifications
• Ergonomic grip area coated with an elastomer material to secure handling and stable operation.

The DEV-3 has a maximum magnification of 10x optical, and reaches maximum magnification of 5.4x optical when in 3D mode. The DEV-5 can reach a total magnification range from 0.9x up to 20x digital when turning on the digital zoom at magnification settings over 10x. The DEV-3 model will be priced at $1400 while the DEV-5 will be offered at $2000. Both are expected to be available by November 2011.

Gadmei P83 3D Adds New Dimension to Mobile Entertainment

When the gaming industry giant Nintendo hinted that they would be launching their own revolutionary glasses-free 3D portable game console, they caught a lot of people surprise. The new Gadmei P83 3D PMP comes in tablet form factor and primarily features an 8-inch 1280×768 resolution screen that can display 3D contents without the need for the usual 3D glasses. Gadmei P83 portable 3D player measures just about 220 x 138.5 x 17.8 mm and weighs around 516 g. It comes with 4GB of internal storage and an internal SD card slot for storage. It also supports popular photos, images, and e-books formats so file compatibility should not be an issue. No specific operating system was officially revealed yet but the manufacturer did mention that the device will be compatible with Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7. The new Gadmei P83 is available at an introductory price of $179.
