Comparing this LaCie’s latest Network Attached Storage (NAS) and media server from its predecessor, you won’t see much of a difference on the external appearance between the two gadgets. The 1 Terabyte Network Space 2 took all the goodies from the previous model, stepped it up a notch and added more features. Installing and managing this device is as easy as 1,2,3 especially with the help from advanced LaCie Network Assistant with dashboard functionality. Sharing and streaming your multimedia contents is very straightforward using LAN with speeds up to 65MB/s and connections to new UPnP/DLNA compliant devices (e.g. PS3 and Xbox 320). Furthermore, Mac and PC can access contents using iTunes server applications and interface. This media server is also provided with USB connectivity for those who want direct and off the network accessibility of an external HDD. A USB 2.0 port is added on the front, it can be used to automatically transfer files from other devices without the use of a PC.

Since torrents are a popular media for file sharing, there is the Download Machine for LaCie that supports several torrents downloads even when the computer is powered down.
