Take Stunning Videos and Photos with Sanyo HD2000A Xacti Dual Camera

While DLSR cameras continue to gain popularity these days, more people still look for cameras that serve dual purpose – record stunning videos and capture amazing photos. That is why, known camera manufacturers see to it that they are able to cater to customers’ demands by offering a wide range of digital cameras and camcorders. SANYO, for one, continuously innovate their products so that camera lovers out there will always have something to look forward to in their product line. And one of the newest additions to their product offerings is the HD2000A Xacti Dual Camera.

xacti_dual_cameraThe main feature of Xacti is that it is able to combine the video abilities of a camcorder with the photo-capture abilities of a digital camera. So, with this gadget, you will no longer need two separate devices just to take stunning videos and photos. For video recording, this is said to be the world’s first camcorder to provide compatibility with iFrame. That means, shooting, editing, and sharing full 1080P HD video is made easier since the video that you recorded is the same format you will edit, so importing it and sharing it to various platforms and devices will also be quick. Meanwhile, for capturing photos, this camera features an 8 megapixel (effective) CMOS image sensor so that the images can be interpolated to reach up to 12 megapixel quality. It also boasts a face chasing technology that automatically reads and corrects focus and lighting for up to 12 different faces.

This dual camera from SANYO really eliminates the need for two gadgets just to take high quality videos and photos. So, if you are interested to own a Sanyo VPC-HD2000 Xacti 8MP High Definition 1080P (Black), check out Amazon.com now!

Sony Cyber-shot Digital Camera HX1 Review

If you’re still having second thoughts about purchasing the Sony Cyber-shot HX1, perhaps after reading this week’s Editor’s Choice, you’ll make up your mind.DSCHX1

Announced in March 2009, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX1 is said to be the competitor of Canon’s PowerShot SX1 IS. Now, let’s get into the details.

Product Summary:

The good:

The Cyber-shot HX1 has the ability to shoot 9MP images at 10 frames per second. Its high speed mechanical shutter captures each frame without the distortion common with electronic shutters. Its powerful 20x optical zoom G lens ranges from 28mm wide angle to 560mm telephoto. With Sweep Panorama, you can capture wide-angle views that extend beyond human vision – up to 224 degrees. Furthermore, the Cyber-shot HX1 features CMOS sensor that cuts image noise in low-light conditions like dusk or dimly-lit interiors. And there’s another great trick up its sleeve. It shoots High Definition movie clips at 1080/30p resolution.

The bad:

There’s no option to adjust the JPEG compression, and as such, unsurprisingly no RAW support either. This is an area where the Canon SX1 IS takes the lead with a variety of compression choices, along with a RAW option [for models running the latest firmware]. Panasonic’s FZ28 also offers a RAW mode. And yes, it is equipped with an electronic viewfinder [EVF] as an alternative means of composition. But, it’s small enough compared to the relatively large [but subsequently course-looking] view of the EVF’s in Canon’s SX1 IS.

Bottom line:

While the HX1 may not feature RAW file recording, it’s fast and has some really useful features. So, does this combine to make a compelling package that should command your money?
