The Digital Rubik’s Cube

The Rubik’s Cube is a mechanical puzzle invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Ern Rubik. Originally called the “Magic Cube” by its inventor, Ern Rubik, this puzzle was renamed “Rubik’s Cube” by Ideal Toys in 1980 and won the German Game of the Year special award for Best Puzzle that year. It is said to be the world’s best-selling toy, with over 300,000,000 Rubik’s Cubes being sold worldwide to date.

We all know that the Rubik’s cube is a geekie game and now we present to you the digital rubik’s cube.

Instead of twisting the cube, you press buttons on it to change the colours and solve the puzzle.

If features colour changing LEDs, it certainly looks like a fun toy, but I wonder if it would be as much fun as the original Rubik’s Cube, some designs are so good the first time around they don’t need to be changed or improved upon.

If you want one they are available for $70 from Firebox.

MX-1 World’s Smallest R/C Copter

Our world seems to lean on tinier gadgets. Yes! Thin is in. Tiny is shiny. Every gadget seems to become smaller, sleekier, and thinner. Now we at geekiegadgets present to you the world’s smallest R/C Copter – the MX-1. The MX-1 is a sharp looking little copter and it has a redesigned remote with smooth slider like controls. Dock the copter in the clear bay at the bottom and charge it up at the same time.

Important Note:
The MX-1 is a 2 channel copter so it is always moving forward slowly. You control up/down and right/left turns. Due to the dynamics of the helicopter right turns are wider than left turns. If you want the MX-1 to move forward faster you can add a bit of weight to the front of the nose. Of course careful use of the trim buttons at the beginning of each flight is pretty much a necessity. Practice up on your flying skills if you hope to challenge the expert pilots at the ThinkGeek world headquarters of doom.
