My friend is celebrating his 21st year of existence. He is one of the most intelligent persons that I know. However, due to an accident, he turned blind. After that incident he became aloof and unhappy. He was always angry even when I am just talking to him about normal things. Since he is a friend of mine, I am always trying to become patient every time he rants how everything is so wrong. How the world hates him. And a lot of other ramblings. Anyway, what I wanted for his birthday is a gift that will be very useful for him. Something that will not degrade his situation. So I browsed the net and check the products that are made especially for the blind. One of the coolest gadgets that stands out among other things is this Rubik’s cube created especially for the blind. The concept is basically simple. Six different materials are used in making this cube. Metal, wood, textile, rubber, plastic and stone were placed in every layer of the Rubik’s cube. Since every thing used in this cube has different textures, a blind man can now identify those textures and he can be able to play the game!! What’s cool about this gadget is that it can help a blind man with his analytical skills and plus his familiarity with textures. I think this is a perfect gift that I can give to my friend. And I am really sure that he’ll love this specially made gadget. This exotic cube, by the way, was designed by Zhiliang Chen.

A lot of gadgets are being created every single day. Scientists and investors work day and night just to create another great technology that would help mankind. Take the case of the gadget that I just found out a couple of days ago. I just found out the most weirdest alarm clock available in the market to date! Well, I was browsing the Internet for a new alarm clock. My alarm clock just broke a couple of days ago and I really need an alarm clock for my work. After an hour of checking cheap but unique alarm clocks in stores, I was able to find what is called Wood Led Clock. This piece of beauty was created by a Japanese company called Takumi . Anyway the alarm clock is in a form of a wooden block. When it is turned off  you will not see any tinge of difference with a real wooden block. However, as you turn on the clock, the LED light appears and it will display the time. Since this is a normal alarm clock, though not it’s shape and structure, it still has a time adjustment knob and a power adapter which can be found on the back. However, because of the uniqueness of this weird gadget, the price of this thing cost $ 379 USD. Totally an expensive clock! But if you up for some quirky experience then having this gadget is definitely for you!After this wooden block, what will be the next alarm clock inspired gadget?

The Pileus Umbrella

Having only a dual purpose, umbrellas are the best defense against two weather conditions; sunny and rainy. Although is you use it for some other reasons, you can add it up to its to-do list. As everyone knows, an umbrella is a “bring it anywhere” gadget that serves as a shade when walking along the streets, having picnics, and others. However, it has been given not much attention as the weather can be really unpredictable and bringing this along is just a hassle.

This is no ordinary excess hand carry item. The Pileus Umbrella allows you to take pictures with its built-in camera and can be immediately uploaded to a Flickr account. Uploading of the shots taken is made possible through a wireless internet connection. The Pileus Umbrella was invented in Tokyo, Japan and has a GPS or Global Positioning System and its own digital compass.
