Panasonic LUMIX GF5 – Next Level Micro Four Thirds Photography

Are you a budding photographer who just went out of his or her point-and-shoot comfort zone but isn’t quite ready yet for a DSLR? Then Panasonic’s latest Lumix GF5 Micro Four Thirds camera is for you. This SLR-like entry-level interchangeable-lens camera uses powerful 12.1 Megapixels Live CMOS Sensor and Venus Engine image processor to capture highly detailed images with minimal noises. This Micro Four Thirds also boasts a maximum light sensitivity of 12800 ISO for low light shots and an ultra-fast 0.09 seconds Light Speed AutoFocus for improved accuracy.

Located at the back of the GF5 is a 3-inch 920k dot LCD touchscreen with 2x the resolution of the older GF3 for much detailed preview and playback and smoother icons and menu. Another upgrade of the Lumix GF5 is its large rubberized grip that should allow you to shoot one-handed without the fear of the camera slipping. The control buttons are also bigger for easier navigation. Furthermore, Panasonic also added a number of new special effects, filter modes, and multiple shooting modes capable of 4 fps full resolution burst shots. The new LUMIX GF5 is now also capable of shooting 1080/60i video in AVCHD or MPEG-4 format.

On the other hand, this camera’s pop-up flash and iA+ automatic mode which is found in other Lumix G Micro System Cameras was retained as well as other standard G Micro Four Thirds standard features.
