The year is just starting and Alienware is already out for conquest. Its latest weapon is the new Alienware X51 ITX gaming desktop that’s aimed to the more space conscious yet hardcore gamers. Don’t let the small size fool you though, true to its Alienware ancestry, underneath miniature form factor lies blood curling hardware that would put any ITX systems or even full desktop systems to shame. This small gaming desktop is powered by none other than latest Intel’s Core series processors with the Core i3 outfitted for base configuration. The new X51 also comes standard with 1GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GT 545 graphics card and 4GB of DDR3 memory. Optional upgrade to the more powerful GTX 555 and up to 8GB of DDR3 memory is also available. For storage, this small profile gaming desktop uses a 1TB 7,200 RPM hard drive. Looking at the specs, the Alienware X51 might be the world’s smallest gaming desktop but, with the right configuration, it can take on even the most resource intensive games to date without so much as a hiccup.
With its small footprint and high-end specs, the Alienware X51 would also make a great entertainment hub. It features a slot loaded DVD drive that can be upgraded to a Blu-ray Disc Reader for High Definition entertainment. An internal High-Definition 7.1 Performance Audio with Waves MAXX Audio Software is also provided to guarantee exceptional surround sound performance. There’s also the plethora of ports including HDMI 1.4, USB 2.0 and 3.0, and SPDIF audio.
Like all Alienware desktop, the X51’s functional and detailed chassis is both made to intimidate and to impress. The chassis comes in dual orientation, is coated in a matte black finish with dark chromes, and comes with three customizable illumination zones. The best part is, even with the small form factor Alienware designed the sleek chassis of the X51 to accommodate future upgrades.
