The off-road, the rugged terrain of dirt, rock, mud, and sand is not everybody’s cup of coffee – but for those who want to get up close and personal with the earth, there’s the new DTV Shredder. It is essentially a compact, powerful, extremely maneuverable, and fast all-terrain vehicle made for adrenaline and extreme sports junkies. This extreme machine is a combination of a skateboard, dirt bike, military tank, and a whole lot of attitude assembled into a mean single-capacity all-terrain vehicle.
The rider will have to position himself sideways atop the modified skateboard deck to drive the DTV for maximum balance. The wheelbase is made of two massive individually powered caterpillar tracks that will grip, grope, and grab on almost any terrain including snow, ice, loose sand, shallow marsh, and mud. The special shape of the treads and the Shredder’s low center of gravity allows it to conquer 40-degree inclines and other tough obstacles that would a 4×4 vehicle faint. Additionally, the steering bars can be folded over and controls transferred over to remote operation.
The DTV Shredder is powered by a 200cc 18hp engine with a top speed of 30mph – over loose and unequal ground. The engine is powerful enough to drag up to 1,200 lbs. worth of passenger and extra haul on its custom-made trailer. Try doing those on a Segway. The DTV Shredder measures about 116.8cm (W) x 45.7cm (H) x 53.3cm (D), and weighs just about 160 lbs.
