The Beautiful, the Smart and the Lenovo Skylight Smartbook

The transition from year 2009 to 2010 need not only celebrated by the best fireworks display to light up the night sky like the one seen on Funchal, Madeira Portugal or in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro Brazil last New Year’s Eve. Lenovo also had something in its sleeves that added light to 2010, particularly on the Consumer Electronics Show that was held this January. The computer giant just unveiled their first take on a more-powerful-than-a-smartphone and more-portable-than-a-netbook hybrid called Lenovo Skylight “Smartbook”.

Weighing less than 2lbs and thinner than your regular smartphone, this is one slim and stylish mobile gadget with a pretty dangerous curves to die for. The Lenovo Skylight uses a brilliant 10-inch High Definition screen that is perfect for watching videos or viewing images, add the web-optimized interface and you’re in for one visual multimedia and web experience. The ultra-slim form factor that fits to almost any bag, solid connectivity features and overnight-rechargeable 10 hours battery life is everything you need to be on the go.

In perfect timing for the Year of the Dragon, the Skylight is powered by a powerful 1GHz-plus Qualcomm Snapdragon ARM processors – perhaps a good omen for Lenovo and consumers alike. It also features a 20GB internal storage with and additional 2GB online. It is also built on a Linux platform with a custom web friendly interface made of live web gadgets.
