Meet NVIDIA Tegra II’s Newest Champion – DreamBook ePad N7

The dream of having new tablets run on Tegra II chipsets may no longer be just a dream of NVIDIA fan boys. Currently, the tablet market is dominated by the hidden Snapdragon and its cohorts, now the crouching Tegra is here to challenge its rule. And Tegra II’s latest champion is the DreamBook ePad N7.
Hailing from Australia-based Pioneer Computers, the DreamBook ePad N7 should be easily recognizable for gadget geeks who keep tabs on upcoming Tegra 2 product. Quite similar to its predecessor, the DreamBook ePad N7 is sadly, not Full HD yet but it comes with a 7-inch WVGA (800 x 480) LCD touchscreen display that supports multi-touch functionality and 16 million colors. The ePad N7 tablet PC is powered by NVIDIA Tegra 250’s ARM Cortex-A9 Dual Core 1.2GHz with 1MB L2 Cache, a ULP GeForce graphical chipset with 3D graphics technology, 512MB DDR2 RAM, 4GB inbuilt storage, b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, an optional 3G connectivity, 1.3MP webcam, and naturally, the Android OS is the Eclair 2.1 paltform.

Connectivity options include the usual features such as headphone out, USB 2.0, HDMI out, microSD cards slot, and a docking port. The battery life from the 2-cell (3.6V x 1500mAh x 2) Li-Polymer battery pack is rated at 10 hours. The basic version of the Pioneer Computers DreamBook ePad N7, without the optional upgrades and international shipping fee, is available for pre-order at AUS $499.00.
