If you still want to experience the superb, evocative MS-20 filter plus genuine analog synthesis, Korg’s new monotron Analogue Ribbon Synthesizer is for you. This compact, handheld monotron can be taken anywhere you want to go. It is powered by two alkaline AAA batteries and is jam-packed with the company’s analog technology which is famous for generating thick, powerful sounds.
This Korg synthesizer comes very simple – with only five knobs and one switch. It comes with ribbon controller keyboard that makes it very much easy to use. The device’s circuit is also radically simple with only one voltage-controlled oscillator, one low frequency oscillator, and one voltage-controlled filter. Each knob is designed to control or adjust the sound. The monotron is also equipped with the highly acclaimed VCF circuit which is found in the classic MS-10 and MS-20 semi modular synthesizers. Further, the monotron’s filter can be “patched into,” making it possible for the filter to process any external audio source.
