Commodore 64 Will be Getting its Much-Deserved Makeover

So you’re missing your old Commodore 64 pc? Now here’s good news for you: this vintage pc will receive its long-been-waited makeover. To make it ready for its grand comeback, the company will give it an all-new design plus several advancements in computing technologies. If you’re not familiar with the Commodore 64, it was a home computer operating in an 8-bit processor offered in 1982 by Commodore International. According to the Computer History Museum, the Commodore 64 sold close to 17 million units from 1982 to 1994, making it one of the most famous models of all time.

The revamped version of Commodore 64, which will be available come June 1, will be released as an all-in-one keyboard, outfitted with Intel’s 64-bit quad-core microprocessors as well as 3D graphics capabilities. To answer your need for greater storage, this PC will deliver 500GB of hard drive storage and 4GB of RAM. It will also come equipped with four USB ports, a DVD-RW drive, a touchpad, a Gigabit Ethernet port and a Digital Visual Interface port which allows you to connect monitors.

This computer gizmo comes small, measuring only 17.5 inches (0.44 meters) wide and two inches (0.05 meters tall). It receives a sleek, anodized aluminum case along with a clean, modern surface. It appears so elegant, simple, and unassuming, making it hard for you to believe that it’s a computer at all. The company said this revamped version is designed to take up far less room – and use far less energy – than any other desktop computer. It is expected to operate Windows, Linux, and Mac OSX operating systems.
