AAXA L1 Laser Pico Projector

Pico projectors weren’t completely hot for the past year. Yet, there is significant demand for it because of the portability and convenience that it brings. You can watch movies, present slide shows, view photos or use it as an ultra big screen wherever you want.

Now, the AAXA L1 is the first laser powered pico projector with internal media player and storage. It is small enough at 4.2″ x 2.1″ x 0.8″ that it can slip right into your pocket and pretty much light at 170g. The laser light source, proprietary despeckling technology, and an LCoS imager all work together to project at 20 lumens and at 800×600 pixel resolution. At 20 lumens, up to 80″ screen size can be achieved at total darkness or 50″ at low light conditions. The RGB laser lamp can be used for up to 30,000 hours or would translate to about 10 years if you use it for 8 hours a day.

Handy features include built in media player, documents viewer, and portable device connectors. The media player can play through USB movies (AVI, ASF, WMV, MPG), audio (MP3, WAV, AAC), images (JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP). Popular document extensions such as doc, ppt, pdf, and xls can also be viewed directly. All you have to do is insert a flash drive and then browse and run the files from there. If you have a PSP, iPhone, iPod, or Zune, then you’re in luck since you can connect your device directly and play your files. The L1 can also play directly from a wide range of phones such as Nokia, Samsung, LG, and HTC.
