Yes it looks like some miniscule remote controlled toy. Actually, it’s a miniscule gas-powered vehicle.
Rev it up, car lovers, and ogle this sleek new babe magnet. Take to the streets and feel the power of the Nano. It’s small but terrible.
Well, yeah, terrible. But not in a good way.
The Tata Nano boasts of being the world’s cheapest car. Available for pre-order by April, this tiny thing with wheels will be available in India for only $1,988. How did they do that? Well you simply have to remove the backseat seatbelts, take away that airbag, build up muscles without the power steering, scrap a couple of cylinders, and you got the Tata Nano. That’s not too bad, considering that’s how cars were a couple of decades ago. And this cute thing definitely looks more stylish than a 1972 Subaru.
You shouldn’t feel like your life is in danger with this one, though. The manufacturers guarantee that it has passed full-frontal crash tests in India. They’re also confident they’ll meet international standards for side-impact crash tests.
For car specs, well it moves. The Tata Nano is a rear-drive vehicle, with a rear gas engine. It has a 34-horsepower 623cc aluminum twin-cylinder. Emission tests reveal that they meet European standards — 4 years ago. But the people’s car is not all that bad. I mean, look at it. It’s cute as a button.
By next year though, we’ll be seeing the Nano take on European highways. Price is jacked way up, retailing at $6,347. But I’m sure that’s because they’ll be putting in the standard safety measures.
