It’s not a netbook, it’s an actual notebook.
The Sony Vaio P Series Lifestyle PC is slim enough to slip into your jacket pocket, as handy as your mobile phone, and as compact as a business envelope. But the computing speed and power it possesses is enough to propel netbooks into extinction. It only weighs a little over a pound, but its jam-packed features leaves you wondering how on earth they could have fit all those nifty add-ons without adding in more kilograms.
Let’s begin with connectivity. For a device as mobile as this one, you can only expect the best in wireless possibilities. Apart from the usual Bluetooth and Wi-Fi that we’ve already come to expect, the Sony Vaio P Series Lifestyle PC is equipped with WAN 3G Mobile Broadband. It even has its own GPS or Global Positioning System functionality. Meaning if you find yourself craving for a Venti Mocha Frapuccino, you can either (A) search online via 3G broadband, or (B) find a Wi-Fi hotspot to log on, (C) use your Bluetooth to connect to your mobile phone, or (D) just type in your search at this built-in GPS for a fully-functional map.
For chatters and conference callers, this sleek PC has an omnidirectional built-in webcam plus microphone. It only has 2 USB ports, an SD/MMC card slot, a headphone jack, and of course a Sony Memory Stick slot. The Sony Vaio P Series Lifestyle PC is equipped with 60GB of hard disk space, and 2 GB of RAM. Though it’s not upgradable, that’s actually more than what my desktop boasts of.
The more I write about this slim and sexy notebook, the more I’m itching to order one now.
So I guess I should end this post before I lose $899.99 on impulse. You, dear reader, on the other hand, may have just found the device you’re looking for.
