Though Nikon is not the first to release weatherproof cameras, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t do its part in bringing in such cameras to this part of the world. Yes, Olympus, Canon, and Panasonic have all jumped into the tough/weatherproof camera market and this has left Nikon aficionados wanting one of their own. Well, Nikon fanatics, we’ve got news for you – you will have a tougher companion for your D300s. Don’t get too excited though, as the Nikon Coolpix eXtreme point-and-shoot camera is still a concept.

Nikon may not be synonymous with sleek designs but the Coolpix eXtreme aims to change that. And unlike those from Panasonic, Canon, or Olympus — the Nikon Coolpix eXtreme is very sexy. A designer piece from Yakon Design by artist Camillo Vanacore, the Nikon Coolpix eXtreme features a curved, sand-weathered-stone body shape and a continuous LCD on the back panel. As contemporary as it is however, the sleekness seems to slip out of a user’s hand easily.

But if you’re looking for an all-weather camera, this is the one to have. The Coolpix eXtreme is shockproof, dustproof, and waterproof. This uber cool, ultra sleek, and adorned with sexy curves camera will surely steal the heart of every shutterbug across the globe. Sadly, it’s not available yet.
