Ericsson’s Sexy W30 and W35 3G HSUPA Routers Get FCC Approval

Wireless carriers are growing their mobile broadband services to offer faster data speeds and more bandwidth. It’s no wonder that new mobile broadband WiFi routers are coming to market – like the new W-Series from Ericsson. The new Ericsson W30 and W35 mobile broadband routers have just earned FCC approval on their way to bringing sexy back to 3G routers. Novatel has been leading the charge with their sleek and highly portable MiFi portable WiFi hotspot device and now Ericsson is apparently getting set to offer an equally well-designed, if less portable, solution.


These routers are capable to downloading data at 7.2Mbps and uploading at 2.0Mbps on three hair-raising HSPA bands in addition to quadband EDGE. Both models offer 802.11b/g and four Ethernet ports for routing data to all your favorite devices. The W35 however has two RJ11 ports for VoIP connectivity.

These sexy routers offer a highly cost efficient solution utilizing the 2G/3G mobile network, especially in areas that lack fixed line infrastructure or as an alternative to traditional landline based internet services. Ideal for many application including marine, corporate internet backup, wireless local loop, data applications and home office use, these devices has no word on price yet but both are expected to be available this month.
