BlackBerry Curve 8320 Smartphone

Almost everyone right now is using a SideKick or some version of it and there are people out there who just want to be a part of that bandwagon. On the other hand, the line of BlackBerry smartphones are steadily continuing to be upgraded and redefined every year. The latest model is the BlackBerry Bold and it is a breath of fresh air, but for now we’re going to take a look at one of the more popular BlackBerry phones to hit the market, the Curve:

Move over BlackBerry Pearl because the BlackBerry 8320 Curve is smaller and lighter than that previous BlackBerry model. It comes in two classic colors, namely, Titanium and Pale Gold (I prefer the Titanium one). Like the other BlackBerry phones before it (the Pearl for example), the BlackBerry Curve also has a slew of hot features that are unique to this line of smartphones. Let’s discuss the phone’s visual impact first: The Curve features a bright 2.5-inch color TFT screen that provides 65,000 colors and a 320 x 240-pixel resolution, including a light-sensing feature that automatically adjusts backlighting for indoor, outdoor and dark environments. This smartphone also features a 2-megapixel camera capable of 5x digital zoom, built-in flash, self-portrait mirror, and a full-screen viewfinder. Although it’s not capable of video recording those specs are pretty tight. So eyecandy, check.

The BlackBerry’s push email technology guarantees that your email will find you without initiating a connection. These BlackBerry devices are designed to remain on and continuously connected to the wireless network, notifying you as new email arrives. This is excellent web synergy in action. BlackBerry is also known for its high rate of file compatibility because in addition to the text, BlackBerry users can also receive and view attachments in a wide range of popular file formats, including Microsoft Office, Corel WordPerfect, and Adobe PDF. The integrated web browser enables you to view webpages in HTML format and on top of that, it also enables you to subscribe to RSS feeds. There’s no need to worry about missing out on the latest web happenings with this berry. Let’s now talk about two of the crucial aspects of phones today, the memory and the battery: The Curve has 64 MB of internal ROM memory which can be expaned by using MicroSD memory cards. The battery provides up to 4 hours (240 minutes) of talk time and up to 17 days (408 hours) of standby time.

Certainly, the SideKick has edgy features, but you cannot deny that the BlackBerry is as slick as that equipment, maybe even more sophisticated. One thing’s for sure, no matter how many climb onto the SK’s bandwagon, the BlackBerry is here to stay. Next week, we’ll bring you the BlackBerry Bold.
