netbookNetbooks were unthinkable before due to the fact that they are under powered and won’t really make sense at all. But not, we are literally swamped with wave after wave of netbooks from different manufacturers from some Chinese brand to brands catering to the higher end market.

However, even after these waves of netbooks, there isn’t significant changes such as huge increase in processing power and such. Rather, they sometimes just differ in shape and form factor which since they all come with the basics such as same Atom CPU, a couple of GB of memory, 160GB or more of hard drive capacity etc.

This RilakKuma Betbook from Bandai isn’t really different from the plethora of netbooks out there. It has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, 150GB of had drive space, 8.9″ 1024×600 resolution LCD screen, WiFi b/g, a camera and a 1Seg Digital TV Tuner, and weighs just over a kile(1.08kg). This netbook surely isn’t different as the others but its best asset is its looks.

The shell of this is RilakKuma, a popular bear cartoon character in Japan which translates “Relax Bear” in English. The whole body of this awfully kawaii netbook is brown and has a cartoonish bear face on the lid which would make it like a a celebrity among all the netbooks and laptops in a coffee shop.

Getting this cute computing gadget wouldn’t be easy literally and on your pocket since only 500 units are produced and are sold over at LalaBit Market’s online store for around $860 (Ouch!).
