9.1 Megapixel Hello Kitty Camera: Pink Overdose

Hello Kitty, introduced in 1974, could be the most recognizable cat in the world. Even though it has been about 35 years since the cat’s introduction, Hello Kitty licensed merchandise never seem to have stopped flowing even to our modern age right now. A good example is this camera from Casio.

This Exilim camera is pimped out to scream pink and cuteness (or kawaii for a more authentic Japanese touch) wherever this is brought. Pink colored cameras are long present like ones from Sony or Canon or from other manufacturers, but they are nowhere near this level of pinkness.

Aside from its brushed metal body, which is great by the way, colored in pink, it has laser etching in the front bearing Hello Kitty’s name and face along with stars sparkling all over. If all of the laser etched stars weren’t enough, pink rhinestones in the rim of the lens were also placed for good measure. But of course, it is all kitty in the inside, it has a  Hello Kitty splash screen as you turn on the camera just to assure you that you’re holding a Kitty cam.

Of course, the usual is present since this is a digital camera in the first place: like image stabilization, red eye reduction, 3x optical zoom, SHDC slot and .MOV format videos.

This pink overdose piece of hardware costs around $525 in Japan (ouch!).
